In todays world, dealing and living with an Autoimmune condition i.e psoriasis is actually a challenging issue ,its not a skin condition but its an autoimmune disorder ,on an average around 2-3% of the total population globally are affected ,but every problem has its  solution .

TREATMENT

1.TOPICAL TREATMENT-

  • CORTICOSTEROID-Its application may reduce inflammation and itching.
  • SALICYLIC ACID-Its application can lead to improvement in skin texture.
  • RETINOIDS-Its application helps in encouraging new cell growth.

 

2.PHOTOTHERAPY-

  • Controlled exposure of UV light on the plaques can reduce the cell turnover.
  • UVB therapy, PUVA are most widely used laser therapy .

 

3.MEDICATION-

  • Doctors might prescribe oral or injected medications such as cyclosporine, or acitretin depending on the skin condition .

 

4.BIOLOGICS-

  • This therapy is specifically designed to block specific parts of immune system involved in Psoriasis.
  • Biologics have transformed  many cases of severe psoriasis into manageable condition .
